　BABYMETALを発端としたMETAL論争が各地で行われているようで、今回はアメリカで起きた面白い出来事がRedditに掲載されていましたのでここに紹介します。（なお、下手な翻訳は大目に見て下さい）


Hey guys, you might have seen me post once or twice around here, so I thought I'd make a post.
A bit of a story today, I saw a thread here about a YouTuber mentioned 'infighting' between the metal community, and I have nothing against people who enjoy other genres of metal, I'm a fan across the board, but what gets me are BANDS in general, it might be their singing style (BMTH, story about that soon) or the way their frontman acts (BVB) genres themselves I don't hate.

One thing I do hate is the hypocrisy that flows within the community, the Metal-elitists. I've experienced them online and irl, it's the closed minded, holier than thou mindset they have that they think they can say what is metal

I personally class Babymetal AS metal, in a music genre that has more sub-genres than Reddit has subreddits, why is it (to them) SO unbelievable that cute/kawaii metal can't be another branch on out complex tree of epic music

"It's gimmicky"

So, Steel Panther (who is also classed as metal) who's album consist of sex-based songs, isn't gimmicky? Because "Michael Starr" REALLY slept with 17 girls in a row on one night?

"It's not metal"

Nah, cuz singing about having sex, betrayal, heartbreak, suicide is what a bunch of 15-16 year old girls should TOTALLY be singing about.

I personally LOVE that Babymetal are bringing awareness to proper childhood problems like bullying, weight gain. But also having fun while doing it, I was at the London show and you could tell that all three girls were turkey into what they were and what they were doing.

Onto my story, I was in my local Asda (Walmart for Americans) and I was walking out of the store and I see a teenager give me this weird ass look.

Now I'm in a bad mood, I've pulled my muscle in the back of my leg from the gig, I'm in pain, so I'm feeling a little confrontational.
I call him out and he said he noticed my Babymetal shirt (the blue alien one) and said how I was fake and babymetal weren't metal.

So I stand there for a moment and look at his shirt It was a crappy BMTH shirt, so I simply turned around to him, with a death-glare and said "Look kid, if you are going to criticise a band, make sure your band don't sound like more of a girl than MY band does" The kid have me that fucking "whatever" line and walked off with his head down to do whatever shopping he needed to do.

But seriously, I don't understand the need to criticise and infight between us, we are a huge family at the end of it, even me and that punk ass kid in asda and we have more important issues in the world than fucking sub-genres in a poxy music genre.

I think I went off on a bit of a tangent, but with all the mixed reviews and a bit of bad press on our fanbase, I needed to rant a bit.

Thanks for listening guys, I'm going to go back to my corner and continue building up a BM inspired wrestling persons (will go into detail if asked :p)

　私個人的には、BabymetalをReddit がsubredditsを持つより多くのサブジャンルを持つ音楽ジャンル内で、METALと同じような物と分類しています。 その理由は 壮大な音楽の複雑な木の上に分枝できないような信じ難いほどのキュート / カワイイ（ 彼らに） があるMETALだからです。

　いや 、なぜならたくさんの15-16 才の 女の子がそうするであろうセックス、 裏切り 、 悲嘆 、自殺のことをどっぷり歌っているからです 。

　私は個人的に、Babymetal がいじめ、体重増加のような適切な幼児期の問題意識を持っていることが大好きです。それだけでなく、それをしながら楽しんでいる。私はロンドン公演に行って、 ３人の女の子達は自分のしていることに夢中になる七面鳥のようなものであったとも言える。

　ところで私の話をすると 、地元のAsda （アメリカ人のためのウォルマート） に行って店の外を歩いていると、ティーンエイジャーが怪しげな馬鹿にしたような顔を向けてくる 。

　今私は不機嫌で、ギグ（小さな会場でのライブ）から足の後ろに肉離れを起こして痛いこともあって少し対立的になっていた。

　私が彼を呼ぶと 、彼は私のBabymetal シャツ （ 青い 外国の もの ） に気がついたと言って 、私がどのように偽かで、babymetal がMETALではないと言ったんだ 。

　だから私は一瞬そこに立って、彼の安っぽいBMTHシャツを見ながら彼に振り向いて、「君がバンド を非難するんなら 、君のバンドが私のバンドよりありふれた女の子でないことを確認しろ 、未熟に見えるぞ 」と言った。そしたらその未熟者は私 にクソったれとでも言うかのように必要があった買い物をするために面を下げて立ち去った 。

　しかし、まじめな話、 私達の間に批判したり論戦をする必要があったのか理解できない。我々はあのasdaにいたパンクの頑固な子供とさえも最終的には大きな家族なんだ。私たちには音楽ジャンルのくだらないサブジャンルよりもより 重要な問題が世界にはあるのに。

　ちょっとした接線の上で起こったと思うが、すべての様々な評価と我々のfanbase 上のちょっとした悪評で 、少し暴言する必要があった 。

　聞いている人達ありがとう 。私は自分のコーナーに戻って格闘することが示唆されるBMを確立し続けるつもりです （要求された場合、詳細に入ります：P ）
